Navy destroys illegal oil refining sites in Rivers, Bayelsa, Ondo
The Nigerian Navy has set ablaze four illegal oil refining sites in Rivers, Bayelsa and Ondo States between Saturday and Sunday.
The Nigerian Navy, in a series of posts on its social media handles Monday said the clampdown on oil thieves in the Niger Delta was part of the Operation Delta Sanity.
The Navy said its Ship Pathfinder, “discovered and deactivated a wooden boat conveying about 4,500 litres of illegally refined diesel along Bakama axis in Rivers State on Sunday”.
Release 2022 withheld salaries, SSANU urges FG
The president of SSANU, Mohammed Ibrahim, has appealed to the Federal Government to release four months of withheld salaries of its members. In 2022, two months after ASUU embarked on strike, SSANU and other unions joined the strike. Buhari's government implemented the "no work, no pay" policy. Tinubu announced payment of outstanding salaries for ASUU but excluded non-academic staff. Recently, SSANU and NASU wrote protest letters to the Chief of Staff to the President and the Minister of Education.The non-academic staff are calling for the release of their salaries.
