The purpose of all language is to create understanding. Latin does the best job on this among all other languages. Latin places the verb last in some sentences because the verb (as an action word) can create misunderstanding just like it can create understanding if it's not in the right context. So, Latin places the context (noun and other parts of speech) first and then the verb last.
English is an abomination of a language. Apart from the ubiquitous fact that 80% of all it's words are borrowed from other languages, it's also the worst in terms of sweetness to the tongue and ability to convey meanings.
Latin and it's corrupted form (Italian), French, German, Igbo, Yoruba, Chinese etc have the best words and there's a sweet musicality to their pronunciation.
