Ford has initiated several significant recalls in 2025, addressing various safety issues across a range of popular models. The recalls affect hundreds of thousands of vehicles and touch on critical systems from brakes to fuel pumps.

One of the most recent and widespread recalls involves approximately 312,120 vehicles in the U.S. This recall, announced on Friday, August 1, 2025, is due to a defect in the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module. The issue could lead to a sudden loss of power brake assist, increasing stopping distances and the risk of a crash, particularly when the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is in use. The recall impacts certain 2025 models of the Ford F-150, Ranger, Bronco, Expedition, and the Lincoln Navigator. Ford plans to fix the issue with a free software update that can be installed over-the-air or at a dealership.

Another large-scale recall, issued in July, covered more than 850,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles due to a potential low-pressure fuel pump failure. The defect can cause an engine to stall while driving, raising the risk of a crash. This recall affects a wide array of models from the 2021-2023 model years, including the Ford F-150, Mustang, Bronco, and Explorer, as well as the Lincoln Navigator and Aviator. Ford is still developing a permanent remedy for this issue, but has begun notifying owners of the safety risk.

Earlier in the year, Ford also issued a "Do Not Drive" warning for some 2025 Super Duty pickup trucks (F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550) due to a potential brake failure caused by a missing spring in the brake booster pushrod assembly. Additionally, there have been other recalls for issues such as a software error affecting rearview cameras, a fire risk from a cracked fuel injector in some Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs, and a child safety lock malfunction in some 2025 Bronco models.

For all recalls, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) advises owners to check their vehicle's VIN to determine if it is affected. Recall repairs are provided free of charge by Ford dealerships.
