Portuguese club Porto has announced the signing of striker Luuk de Jong on a free transfer. The 34-year-old Dutch international was a free agent after his contract with PSV Eindhoven expired.

 

The signing was officially revealed ahead of a preseason friendly match against Atletico Madrid at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto. De Jong, who wore the number 26 jersey, was presented to the fans and is expected to bring valuable experience to the club.

De Jong previously played for clubs including Sevilla, Barcelona, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Newcastle United. During his time at PSV, where he was also captain, he won consecutive Eredivisie titles in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. In the 2024/2025 season, he scored 18 goals in 47 matches. A year earlier, he was the top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie with 29 goals.
