Get the latest update on the Cardinals vs. Pirates game. The series opener scheduled for June 30 was postponed due to weather. Find out the new schedule, including a split doubleheader on July 1.

The series opener between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Pirates, scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025, at PNC Park, has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The game, which was slated for a 7:05 PM local start time, was delayed as rain and thunderstorms swept through the Pittsburgh area. After a lengthy delay, the decision was made to postpone the contest.

The two teams will now play a split doubleheader on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The first game will be a makeup of Monday's postponed matchup and is scheduled for a 1:05 PM start. The second game, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday evening, will be played at its regularly scheduled time of 7:05 PM.

Fans holding tickets for the June 30th game will be able to use them for the 1:05 PM game on July 1st.

The pitching matchup for the first game of the doubleheader is expected to be the same as was scheduled for Monday, with right-hander Erick Fedde getting the ball for the Cardinals and left-hander Andrew Heaney starting for the Pirates. Pitching plans for the second game have not yet been formally announced by either club.

Both teams will be looking to start the series on a positive note after coming off different results in their previous series. The Cardinals will be aiming to bounce back from a series loss, while the Pirates will be hoping to build on a series win. The unscheduled doubleheader will test the depth of both teams' pitching staffs as they navigate two games in one day.
