25-year-old man stabs friend to death in Kano
The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old suspect identified as Abba Ibrahim for allegedly stabbing 22-year-old Zaharadeen Iliyasi in the neck with a knife, causing his death.
This was according to a statement on Monday by the spokesperson for the command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa.
According to the statement, on receiving information about the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel, ordered all entry and exit points in the state blocked to prevent the suspect from fleeing.

Police warn against jungle justice
The Nigeria Police Force has again condemned jungle justice, stressing its negative impact on the country’s justice system.
This was contained in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, shared on the force’s X account on Monday.
The statement said, “The Nigeria Police Force has again warned against jungle justice in the country as such affects the effective administration of justice, which could be much detrimental to the smooth dispensation of justice in recorded cases in our dear country.
Man arrested for defiling underage boy in Rivers
Members of a local vigilante group in the Okujagu community in Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have arrested Chigozie Okpara, a suspected homosexual.
He was apprehended on Sunday night for allegedly having carnal knowledge of an underage boy.
A resident of the area told PUNCH Online that the man, who is in his 40s, said he worked with a security company in Port Harcourt and usually lured his unsuspecting victims with food and snacks into his house before defiling them.
