Fire destroys 50 shops at Kano market
A midnight fire has destroyed over 50 shops and property worth N150 million at Yan Katako Market Rijiyar Lemu area of Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State.
Speaking to newsmen, the chairman of the market, Alhaji Mamuda Abdullahi, explained that the blaze started at about 1am on Monday.
He pointed out that the conflagration destroyed over 50 shops containing plywood, foam, spray machine, chairs, and other carpentry tools.
The chairman said the cause of the incident had yet to be ascertained.
US airman sets self on fire outside Israeli embassy
An active member of the jul US Air Force set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington on Sunday, officials said, as media reported he was protesting the war in Gaza.

Terrorists kill 15 worshippers at B’Faso church
At least 15 civilians were killed and two others injured during a “terrorist” attack on a Catholic church during Sunday mass in northern Burkina Faso, a senior church official said.
“We bring to your attention a terrorist attack which the Catholic community of Essakane village was the victim of today, February 25, while they were gathered for Sunday prayer,” the vicar of the Dori diocese, Jean-Pierre Sawadogo, said in a statement sent to AFP.
The provisional toll was 15 killed and two wounded, he added.
