Residents are urged to take precautions against the heat, stay hydrated, and avoid strenuous activity during the peak hours of the day.
According to Spain's state meteorological agency, AEMET, a high number of weather warnings are active across the country. The warnings cover a range of hazards, from intense downpours and storms, which may be accompanied by hail, to the significant heatwave in the central and southern parts of the Iberian Peninsula.
