In a testament to high demand, Sam Smith has announced a major extension to their intimate New York City residency, "To Be Free: New York City." The residency, which was initially a 12-show run at Brooklyn's 1,000-capacity Warsaw club, sold out instantly. As a result, the artist has added 12 new dates, stretching the series into November and December.
The residency is a unique opportunity for fans to see the global superstar in a much smaller venue than their usual stadium shows. It is named after Smith's new acoustic single, "To Be Free," a soulful ballad that was also co-written with Simon Aldred. The music video for the song, which features the TwoCity Chorus, was filmed at the Warsaw venue, making it a central part of the residency's identity.
This series of performances offers a stripped-down, vulnerable experience for audiences, a return to the artist's roots as a soul crooner while also showcasing their evolution as a performer. Tickets for the new dates are on sale now.
