Amar Johnson, an undrafted rookie running back for the Green Bay Packers, has been making headlines after his performance in the team's preseason opener against the New York Jets. Johnson, who was activated off the active/non-football injury list after a hamstring injury, scored a 39-yard touchdown in the 30-10 loss. He finished the game with seven carries for 67 yards.

Johnson, a former South Dakota State standout, was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection in his final college season. He had a productive college career, amassing 3,196 rushing yards, 518 receiving yards, and 30 total touchdowns over four seasons. At his pro day, he reportedly ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash.

After the preseason game, Johnson spoke to the media, describing his touchdown run as "almost like a dream." He also attempted his first Lambeau Leap, which he admitted could use some work. His performance has been noted as a "good step" toward securing a spot on the Packers' roster, especially with other running backs like Emanuel Wilson and MarShawn Lloyd not playing due to injuries.
