His latest work, Dream Requiem, an epic composition for orchestra, chorus, soprano, and narrator, was released on January 17, 2025, on Warner Classics. The live recording features Meryl Streep as the narrator and Anna Prohaska as the soprano. The work had its world premiere in Paris in June of last year.
Wainwright has a full schedule of tour dates in late 2025 and into 2026, with performances in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe. Highlights of his schedule include:

* A series of solo shows in September in California (Healdsburg, Ojai, and Orange) and a performance in New York, NY for "Opening Night" music.

* "Want Symphonic" performances in Manchester, Edinburgh, and Gateshead in late September.
* A performance in Cardiff in October.

In other news, the original West End cast recording of his musical, John Cassavetes' Opening Night, is scheduled to be released on September 12, 2025. A new single and album title track, "Have At It!", was released on August 7, 2025.
