Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new head coach on a contract that runs until 2028. The Danish manager joins the North London club after a successful and transformative period at the helm of fellow Premier League side Brentford.
Frank's move to Spurs comes in the wake of the recent departure of Ange Postecoglou, who left the club shortly after guiding them to a Europa League victory.
In a statement released by the club, Tottenham praised Frank as "one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches within the game." The club highlighted his "proven track record in player and squad development" as a key factor in his appointment.
During his tenure at Brentford, which began in 2018, Frank oversaw the club's promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and established them as a competitive top-flight side, widely praised for their attractive style of play and astute recruitment.
Frank will be joined at Tottenham by several members of his Brentford backroom staff, including assistant coach Justin Cochrane.
In a statement on their official website, Brentford expressed their gratitude to Frank for his significant contributions to the club. "He forged a special connection with our fans, helped develop and improve players, and was instrumental in implementing the culture that has seen Brentford go from strength to strength," the club stated.
The appointment will see Frank manage in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career, a new challenge he will undertake as he leads Tottenham into the upcoming season.
